Stage 5-5: Conception-Colliers

A most memorable stage for several reasons. First, the run along the edge of the water was gorgeous and huge fun. I was moving the car around a bit more than usual and starting to get a hint of what it might be like to really drive fast on this race. Of course, that's often followed by learning what it's like to drive just a little too fast, a trick we'd avoided to this point. And continued to avoid. But it felt good.
Next was the crazy section, starting at about 3:04. We had a warning of 600 m of bumpy road. And it was something else. Little volcanos in a one-lane road. Just nuts.
Last was the speedbump at 3:49. We hit this at 80 mph, full throttle.
Check out the skidmarks into the barricade at 1:54. Somebody had a bit of a moment - thanks to my guardian angel, we were fine.
